Overview

For our ME212 (Fundamentals of Visual Communication for Engineers) term project, we were tasked with fully disassembling and modeling a mechanical article of our choosing. Our team chose to render a Delco Remy Starter (Part no. 11077424). Through inspection of online sources and forums, as well as the fact that the part was sourced from one of our group member's farm, we believe the part came from a 1945 John Deere B tractor. I was elected as the leader for our project by 5 of my peers and was responsible for overseeing the completion of actvities, general task delegation, and punctual deadline submissions. The project goal was to work on skills such as CAD 3D modeling and drawings, orthographic projections, GD&T, and general industry best practices and standards.

Project deliverables included 2 design reviews, the modeling and drawing of at least 40 parts split amongst 5 members, the modification of at least 6 of those parts, a comparison between CREO calculated mass and volume values against actual mass and volume measurements, a bill of materials, and a document compiling the entire project.
